General Information

The races start at the King Saud University, near the New Sports Stadium Parking. The finish line will be held next to the starting line.

The Riyadh Marathon will take place on February 11th 2023

The Saudi Sports for All Federation (SFA), which the main body responsible for raising physical activity levels in the Kingdom, is responsible for organizing the Riyadh Marathon with support from the Ministry of Sport, the Quality of Life Program, the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, the Saudi Arabian Athletic Federation, and King Saud University.

Anybody can participate in the Riyadh marathon; we have a variety of races suitable for all ages and athletic abilities. Please make sure to review the terms and conditions upon registering.

There will be four races at the Riyadh Marathon 2023:

  • Full Marathon (42,195 km) - the race is open to participants aged 20 and above
  • Half Marathon (21,0975) km- the race is open to participants aged 18 and above
  • 10 km race - open to participants aged 17 and above
  • 4 km race - open to all ages

Yes, everyone is welcome to participate in the Riyadh Marathon. Please make sure to ensure to register as a person with disabilities to ensure all your needs are accommodated.

Your results will be available on the official marathon website (www.riyadhmarathon.org) on February 11th  after the race.

A downloadable certificate will be available with your results.

Once the event is over your photos will be online within shortest time - sorted by bib number and professionally post-processed. You want personalised photos telling the story of YOUR race? Yes, children under the age of 17 have a dedicated 4km race.

Yes, the age requirements for participation in the Riyadh Marathon is as follow:

  • Full Marathon (42.195 km) - the race is open to participants aged 20 and above
  • Half Marathon (21.0975) km - the race is open to participants aged 18 and above
  • 10 km race - open to participants aged 17 and above
  • 4 km race - open to all ages

Registration

You can register for the Riyadh Marathon on the official website HERE

You may cancel your registration in the marathon. However, due to the nature of the event, we are unable to refund registration fees.

Immediately after registration, you will receive an email confirmation that includes your QR code.

The email confirmation will be individually sent to the email address you included in the registration form to ensure that each participant can easily access their QR code.

You can choose to include the same email address across all registration to receive the confirmation emails.

Race Kit

The Riyadh Marathon race kit will include your race bib (which you are required to wear on race  day to participate), a tote bag, a t-shirt and a water bottle.
On race day, the 15,000 runners will receive a medal after crossing the finish line.

You can pick up your race kit at the marathon village on February  10th.  from 9AM to 10PM

You will be required to present a form of ID (National ID, Iqama, or passport) and your registration QR code, in addition to the Tawakkalna App.

No, race kits will not be distributed on the morning of the marathon.

Race Day

The Marathon will start at 6:30AM.
The Half Marathon will start at 8:05AM.
The 10km race will start at 9:45AM.
The 4km race will start at 11AM.

Yes. There will be a storage area at the race village, where you can store your bags and belongings. Luggage will be tagged with your race number.

To retrieve your belongings, you must present your race number to organizing officials at the counter.

There will be restrooms available throughout the race venue.

There will be refreshment areas every 5 km across all races, in addition to the finish line.

The marathon race bibs include an electronic chip to track their progress. The chip will be automatically activated during the race to track participants progression.

Yes, there will be photography and videography during the race. All participants agree to the use of footage by the Saudi Sports for All Federation and Riyadh Marathon during registration as part of the terms and conditions.

Yes, there will be medical staff on standby to attend to any emergency or injuries throughout the race.

Marathon Village

The marathon village will take place on February 10th-11th 2023.

The village will take place on the New Sports Stadium parking, at the King Saud University.

Participants can collect their bibs at the marathon village, which will include side activations, food trucks, music and more! Details will be shared closer to the marathon date.

Health and Safety

The marathon will abide by all the health protocols set by the Ministry of Health
